Oyajirome (親白眼) Ozuki Tee

Oyajirome (親白眼) is a traditional Japanese yōkai (supernatural monster) featured in the Edo-period handscroll known as the The Bakemono Zukushi “Monster” Scroll (18th–19th century). During the Edo period, Japan experienced a "yōkai boom". Artists like Toriyama Sekien and the creator of this scroll began inventing or codifying monsters to sell prints and scroll games to the public. Oyajirome stands alongside famous spirits like the long-necked Rokurokubi and the snow-woman Yuki-onna as a testament to the boundless visual imagination of historic Japanese fantasy art
